2019 was a pretty good year for movies despite what some may say

I didnt really listen to vampire weekend until this year and now I really like them. first 2 albums I like the best.

 

my teacher said if you got an A in the class, you don’t have to take the final.

he now changed it to if you have a 120% in the class you won’t have to take the final. The highest grade in the class is 110%. This is all dumb.

I have a 95% in the class.

 

That is squarely on the bad movie side where it isn’t incompetent filmmaking that leads to an enjoyable time but a truly morally and artistically bankrupt mess pretending to be worth something.

 

honestly makes me look back and question if he ever really made a good film or if he just fooled us

 

I hate talking about art on the internet so much hahaha

 

The Wrestler is pretty good but I question the rest

 

i've always liked them never loved them, but Father of the Bride is gonna finish HIGH atop my end of the year list

 

the wrestler was great
black swan was okay
the rest can kick rocks

 

Requiem and Black Swan were decent enough--granted I havent seen them in years, but remember enjoying them at the time.

I couldn't find much to like about Black Swan but I respect your opinion and wouldn't call it a bad film necessarily, just not for me

lol I go to threads for things I like like The Mandalorian or The Lighthouse but steer clear of pretty much anything else at this point. I don't even read those threads anymore because people be annoying

 

For sure. I blame it on being a literal child just getting super into film when I watched most of them. The misogyny radiating so strongly from his life and his work doesn’t help anything either.

 

Oh, I totally agree, but hopeless and depressing does not a bad movie make.

It does make me laugh that we overlap on so many of those threads, lol.

 

I guess I just see it as misery porn. and I don't know if there's a prevailing theme to it all or if it's just a nihilistic viewpoint of life and I can't get behind that if so
