I love and HATE when this happens on the show. I hate it because it’s so nonsensical but I love watching daddy Gordon get angry. There’s one episode where the owner says they cut like 30 pounds of meat a day, 5 pounds are made into meatballs and the rest are frozen and then he’s like “idk why everyone says stuff tastes frozen!!!”

 

Watching his soul leave his body when they talk like this is endlessly entertaining.

Yes! Or the weird rants he’ll go on. There’s another episode where he finds like a speck of blood from some meat in the bread crumbs used to coat mozzarella sticks and he loses his shit over it, but not 30 seconds earlier he had just found chicken wings that had been fried so many times that they were stuck together and looked like vomit but THAT he only cursed a little at.

Blood or cross contamination will set off any chef more than any other food crime. It’s the one absolute no no. Like on Chopped you can forget every ingredient and somehow manage to stay but if there’s the smallest bit of blood it’s an instant out.
