I hate the characters in Pride and Prejudice so much. I found them so unbelievable, even for their time. But maybe it works if it’s read as parody, I dunno. Brave New World is amazing though.

I’ve taken British literature courses and Shakespeare courses strictly out of necessity. Not a big fan tbh. A lot of Shakespeare is dumb imo but there is some good stuff in there. The tragedies are generally fine but R&J relies a lot on the characters being complete fucking idiots.

 

Romeo and Juliet is so fucked up if you think about it, a girl who's barely 14 and a 17 year old are like okay we can't be together forever time to die
