One of the all time classic moments was in like the 60s when my grandma and her cousin got up on a table to dance and her great aunt came over and was like, “They’re all going to talk about you doing this!” and they said, “They won’t talk if you get up here and dance too,” and SHE DID.

The Pacers mascot is named Boomer

 

She was the best. She died pretty suddenly this August at 96, and had only slowed down in the last year or two. She specifically requested a big party for the funeral so at the graveside we all took shots of her homemade Romanian raspberry whiskey. That was about 2 PM and then we all went back and hung out all night.

My grandfather was all of the best cliches about the 50s but without any of the toxic traits. He always traveled with a barman’s helper because he knew no matter where they went good cocktails would be needed. We definitely try to keep a lot of those traditions up when the younger generations get together. Lots of drinking and food and traditional dancing when we can get the cassette player to work...

Shoutout to the game technician who gave my friends and I 10 free credits on DDR

Backstory: we have two techs who constantly make sure the DDR machine is in good condition and all of us in the local community make it a point to mention that we're super grateful to them whenever we see them and one of them was just like "here, it's on me because all of you have always been so patient and kind" and put the 10 credits in for all of us to share

My nephew got to visit his dad this weekend and I'm so simultaneously happy and sad but this is my fave pic of them now. It's cool how supportive ppl are being with a GoFundMe and raffles and stuff. One of the upsides to a small community I think. His hometown had a "wear orange" day in his honor this week which was rly cool
