Being impeached means the HoR finds enough evidence to warrant a trial of the president/senator/elected or appointed official and they believe there is a strong enough case to be made for that person to be removed. If the senate votes to convict (again, they won't), then the conviction warrants the removal from office (and possibly the disqualification from seeking other office).
