It’s a HUGE sci fi convention so there’s panels and parties and some nerds play board games the whole time and never leave the room and there are celebrities hanging out and not really getting noticed because there’s 80,00 other people to be looking at. I’m also in a craft beer group that has a share with hundreds of people every year and that’s great. It’s pretty much a party that takes over Atlanta for five days and I love it. But yeah there is also a subset of people that go just to hook up and they’ve had problems with consent and cosplay or people making others feel unsafe as well, so it’s not perfect.


Also I just got done at the dentist for some of my fillings and I can’t feel my face. Why did I not internalize that this would happen when I made plans to do stuff after?

bought a shelf today to display all the gifts and achievements ive gotten over the years. a lot of these come from people i dont talk to anymore and bittersweet memories, but i love the shelf as a culmination of who ive become over the last 5 years since moving back to the US, so im quite happy with it! i get down on my achievements a lot, so hopefully having all these stories out on display can help me remember all the things ive done. :]
