I wanna watch Toy Story 4 but I haven't seen 3 and I barely remember 2. can I still watch and be good or should I go back to the others first?

You’ll be fine. Toy Story 3 was dark af tho so don’t be surprised if it’s kind of a bummer

 

I would say you don't need to see the others to appreciate it, because it's kind of its own self-contained story, but you should see 3 just because it's amazing.

i would highly recommend watching 3 before 4

there's a little montage to get you up to speed at the beginning of 4 if you want to just go straight to that and you'd be fine

I think you should watch toy story 3. Like you’re not dumb so you’ll be able to figure out the stuff but the whole setting/narrative changed so I feel like just watch it so you can experience the full range of emotions

I will say, I was hugely skeptical of Toy Story 4 going in. I thought it was totally pointless to try and do another movie in the series because of how perfectly 3 ended, and how perfect of an overall trilogy of movies it was, like a true trilogy that I would say maybe was the best film trilogy of all time. But walking out of the theater for 4 I had been completely won over. I still think it didn't need to get made, but it absolutely did justify its own existence for me and I thought it was great.
