I kinda get what you're saying, sometimes it is hard to tell who's being sarcastic, and there are sometimes some borderline comments that we give the benefit of a doubt to because we feel like we're in like-minded company. I was just a little confused as to what your purpose was in saying this, but if it's just a comment on how you perceive some of those comments, then same I guess

honestly one of the things getting me through my depression right now is energy drinks...they help my mood a ton and make me more productive. Like I said I think people were mostly responding to arguments I was not even making so an actual tldr

- sometimes it’s hard for me to discern who’s joking and who’s mocking
- the general consensus seems to be that no one is ever mocking so I guess that’s just me
- sometimes people leave because they get annoyed when people are talking about social issues. That’s totally within their right.
-It’s also within my right to be frustrated that people would rather post about Lola bunny and beans than serious issues.
- sometimes people leave for a myriad of other reasons and thus have literally nothing to do with this conversation so not sure why they’re brought into it
- Im an asshole for assuming people’s stances on social issues based around the jokes they make about said social issues

I totally agree, but someone saying that things suck and they’re leaving stands out more than the people who just drop in from time to time or get busy and show up when things are calmer in their life. Especially when it’s super hard to parse whether it’s a bit or a running gag or the response to them leaving is a bit or a running gag itself, lol. Like I don’t want to be making jokes at the expense of someone who may be genuinely upset just because I don’t get the nuance.

That isn’t really a disagreement to any of the other posts, just something in addition from someone still trying to figure things out. My book of notes is in SHAMBLES.

 

Don't say you're an asshole, it's fine to talk through things if you're uncomfortable, I think that's also a big point all of us were making so I think we all understand each other now.
