it's fine, I tried to punch one of them in class and it got better after awhile

 

I feel so understood.

I did watch mostly Nick and Disney. Very much NOT a Cartoon Network fan until I was old enough for Adult Swim, then I loved that. But I was also very into PBS and Nick at Nite reruns and tons of stuff that my very old parents watched, so I had the tastes of about four different generations from a very young age.

 

I didn’t watch a lot of anime when I was a kid but I did have to basically run to my grandmas every day after school to be there in time for DBZ

 

same. I spent a lot of time embarrassed about things I liked and tried to fit in because of how sad I was and how alone I was. I stopped playing certain games and watching shows because of it

 

I wish I could participate more in this conversation because y'all are on my level. maybe that's why we're all on chorus and itt.

Sailor Moon was my first anime in the late 90's and I definitely made a group of girls play Sailor Moon with me at recess every day

Looking back it all makes sense...

 

I liked Sailor Moon a lot as a kid and tbh I like it even more now

It is the exact level of campy I need in my life and it's so good

 

I rewatched Gundam Wing with my friend about 3 years ago and I loved every single second of it. Otherwise I haven't watched anime in at least 10+ years but I loved it growing up.

 

I had a babysitter for a while who was very much not responsible or safe enough to be trusted with a young child, but she was super into Sailor Moon and other anime and cool movies and got me hooked in the brief time I stayed with her.

 

I'm sorry you didn't find a group of people that were on your level at that time

The lady I share my office with is like grossly sick and it's not exactly a big space so how do I politely tell her to gtfo

 

I don't get anime but that's okay

 

I loved it and love memories of it but DBZ holds up terribly IMO
