I know she has dabbled in country, and obviously married to Blake, but I can't get myself excited for a country record from her... I guess I should just be happy there is something after so long

 

4 of the track titles are flower related, really leaning into the theme here

 

I hear the song with Blake Shelton at work all the time and I hate it lol

 

My biggest problem with her going country is that she did the whole Let Me Reintroduce Myself thing and acted like she was going back to her roots. I get that none of those songs really landed, but also it just makes it seem like she's trying too hard. I just get the feeling she's making music because she feels like she has to more than because she really wants to but maybe I'm being too harsh.

 

I remember that article from years back where she was saying that she doesn't really have it in her anymore to try to be a huge artist and churn out music, so she is just releasing stuff on her own time when she wants. I definitely feel like that is at least semi-true, since she didn't force out an album when those singles weren't landing, but at the same time some of those singles were so bad that they HAD to be trying to get a hit, not from her heart, right? RIGHT?!?#@?

 

That's where I'm conflicted cus if she really isn't worried about having a hit, then why wouldn't she have released an album. To me it seems like she wanted to do a more No Doubt style solo album and then went back on it when she realized it wasn't really working, but I could be completely wrong.

 

The preview isn’t bad. More rock than country.

 

This album is honestly pretty nice! Breezy, some great melodies, catchy stuff. The biggest downfall is that it's overly cheesy lyrically at times, but she's happy so whatever
