I’m not a fan when the guest is the kind of Guy they’re covering. Listening to this dude talk about the wine process is a slog the accidental opie drop was perfect though
The Opie Drop made it all worth it. The guy was at least self aware. The Chapo guy didn’t work and sadly I think they couldn’t find a fun angle with Nick Lutsko as a Halloween guy. It’s better when it’s a guest with knowledge willing to goof.
The Rockabilly or Warmhammer 40K episode dynamic was perfect. A guest that is very very familiar with that world, but not actively a part of it.
oof he's so pissed he didn't remember there was an AWE ppv when he agreed to this "i panicked the other day when I found out" lmao
I might be going on a trip with my family in a couple years so i was looking at dispensaries near the resort we're considering in Jamacia and found this. Hedo Weedo - Negril Cannabis Dispensary & Therapeutic Spa How has this never come up?
Also I really like the Audiophiles episode with Bryn Niebor. They should bring them back for a Guitar Gear Guys/Effects Pedal Guys episode. I've recently been watching a lot of Emily Hopkins videos (who apparently pedal guys hate) and that world insane. Effects Pedal/Gear guys are like the gen z and millennial equivalent to the Audiophiles.
Bryan describing his airplane intestinal disaster on the stream was too relatable. Been there. Anxiety will definitely cause that.
May we all meet someone as committed to us as Bryan is to wearing shoes. His story of laying in the breeze way on his stomach to keep his shoes outside but still be inside with people was breaking my brain.
Bryan’s rehab story and quitting pills just because of the logistics of getting them was killing me. Him and Wiger truly need a show together.
The Menswear Guys one was a another one where I felt like Bryan and Chris held back on goofing as much as they would have because their guest was clearly one of those guys, while letting him go on for way too long about the fabric in jacket linings. Also I went into this Menswear Guys episode thinking it was going to be about hypebeast/streetwear guys, not tailored vintage suit guys.
They already did the hype beast episode. I also thought the menswear guy was fun and joking on it a decent bit.
It was an okay ep. I don’t know Jesse’s work that well, but it 100% makes sense that he has a podcast with John Hodgman.
I take that back. It was a very solid ep. I didn’t realize I fell asleep during the last half hour after Thanksgiving. Jesse’s voice just has calming quality to it. I think it was lighter on laughs, but kind of opened up the space to say that it’s not bad to be a menswear guy and kind of why we style ourselves the way we do (Also, Bryan’s research had basically no distinct characters to goof on). Jesse did a good job of not being overpowered by the Bryan and Chris and kept what could have been a stuffy episode pretty light.
holy shit. this Mancow/Gorka interview is absolutely incredible don't listen to the podcast. video is mandatory
