I actually probably saw that episode. I was still watching the shower every Sunday with my family back then.
maude flanders getting killed off is honestly dark in a way that went against the show moreso than the principal and the pauper, especially since it was done for ratings
one other thing, all the reviews and such saying how much darker this movie is than the past two are pretty spot on
Gunn was originally going to kill of Gamora in Vol. 2 instead of Yondu, but changed his mind because it didn’t feel right for the story. Guardians of the Galaxy Director James Gunn Reveals Scrapped Gamora Death Plans (Exclusive)
The tweet literally says that story is in GOTG3. It’s not ever gonna happen. Now, maybe the MCU will eventually do a Rocke/Groot movie (assuming both survive 3), but it won’t be Gunn’s story.
Watched GOTG2 for the first time since the theater. Didn’t like it the first time, but I did this time. Very enjoyable.
it was about how james gunn got “bad faith cancelled” and then went and made a hit for dc then came back and made a ton of great stuff for marvel so he “won”.
This exceeded expectations. So much fun, so much heart. It felt weird to go to an MCU movie and walk out feeling satisfied again.
High Evolutionary was a really good villain too, wish he wasn't a one-off. Chukwudi Iwuji was seriously menacing and convincing. A lot more effective than Kang.
