currently standing behind a young boy wearing a starlord jacket. apparently it was dress up day at school, his mom says
A galactic group hug that might squeeze a little too tight on the heartstrings, the final Guardians of the Galaxy is a loving last hurrah for the MCU's most ragtag family. So now critics are against too much emotion lmao
Yeah Greg, I get it. Just think it’s dumb to take issue with the rotten tomatoes critics consensus instead of an individual critic
Typically a complaint in the RT consensus shows that it’s a common complaint. That’s why I said “critics.” There are a number of critics are think there’s too much emotion.
i had about a handful of issues, but this mostly ruled otherwise. it feels a bit like no time to die for me, in that it i enjoyed it immensely as a final chapter, but slightly less than as a (very good) standalone film. it's a shame that there's a good chance that it'll be a while if at all before marvel studios will allow a movie like this with a real creative voice. additionally, i heard someone two seats away sobbing into their kleenex midway through the 3rd act, and i'm positive there were others. final scenes are really gonna hit people. i really don't feel like it's hyperbole to call it one of the mcu's better films (though i also enjoyed the last two GOTGs more than the bulk of the rest, so take that as you will!) at least until june 2nd, GOTG3 is the superhero movie of the year. and it'll probably be the 2nd best by the end of '23. at this point, you can't tell me even the flash will be on par with this. i really liked this
The only thing I have heard about any sort of post credit scene is that one seems to indicate that at least one of the Guardians will be coming back in another MCU projects that is all I heard. It’s so vague and not a surprise, that it’s basically not a spoiler, but I tagged to be safe.
