It was fine. Completely unnecessary. Pratt looked like he was being held at gunpoint the entire time.

Like every holiday special known to man.

I don't think you go into this thinking it's going to be vital to the MCU.

 

A Garfield Christmas Special is a necessary addition to his canon.

 

As a casual Marvel fan and a casual Christmas special fan I thought this was pretty good. I knew nothing of the Kevin Bacon plot so I found it to be pretty funny. The song at the beginning took me right back to 80s Christmas special vibe and thought it was pretty clever. I’ll jump on the Chris Pratt looks like he’s not even trying bandwagon. Loved the Drax and Mantis focus.

 

Ehhh. I disagree. He was great in GOTG and mostly in GOTG2. And of course Parks and Rec. He looks like he’s been dead behind the eyes for almost everything else I’ve seen him in, especially this. He reacts to the big reveal like someone just told him they won a Big Mac in the McDonald’s Monopoly game.

 

Yeah the last Jurassic world movie and the tomorrow war Pratt looked so checked out.

 

It's almost like a movie is missing between Endgame and Love & Thunder where they suck all life inside of Starlord

 

I was under the idea that Pratt is portraying Star-Lord this way due to the loss of Gamora.

Or maybe he is just out of the character, who knows

 

This is what I assumed.

 

Enjoyed that, my only complaints were I feel Drax's schtick is a bit too one-note (this is not exclusive to the special) and the animated bookends could be a bit smoother.

 

Into it. Baby Rocket is gonna break me.

That was my first thought - great song choice

 

is it widely theorized that rocket dies? because im gonna bawl.

 

Looks like it will lean more toward emotional weight and less on heavy comedy which is a nice welcome.

 

Man, that got me so pumped. Feels really bittersweet, the other two Guardians movies are some of my personal of the MCU and while I’m beyond stoked to see what James does at DC, it makes me a little sad we won’t see another thing from him in the MCU since he was one of the best they’ve had.

 

drax absolutely rocking that kid with the dodgeball is great

 

This is gonna make me cry I guess. I hated Love & Thunder so much I was starting to wonder if another movie with these characters would work for me. Seems like Gunn is gonna stick the landing before he says goodbye and enjoys his fancy big DC Films job
