Front row IMAX 3D? I'm amazed you can see your screen to type a message. That sounds abysmal and would absolutely ruin the movie for me.

Nebula had one of the most engaging threads throughout the film for me. Up there with Yondu and Peter. I loved the scene where she and Gamora sat there in silence after she said she just wanted a sister, and also when she awkwardly accepted Gamora's hug.

Gamora is more boring than Nebula, I won't tolerate Karen Gillan slander

I also loved all the names for Rocket, trash panda, fox, crabby puppy

I thought Rockets storyline was the most depressing and well executed dramatic moments. He was the one who has a huge break in ego, especially after his conversation with Yondu.

Seeing this tonight and I'm soo pumped. Seeing it in Regal Cinema's RPX, which I guess is their version of IMAX. Really curious to see how that pans out.

I'm so jealous my sister's boyfriend works for AMC and saw the movie twice before it was even out.

This was nowhere near as charming as the first, probably in my bottom 1/4 of Marvel movies.

    Still very good and rewatchable.

I rewatched the first today twice, one with James' commentary, and it actually solidified that I much prefer the sequel. I'll take a character driven movie over a plot & action-driven movie any day of the week. Not that the first doesn't have good character moments, it has some great ones, but...there's just so much pew-pewing and Ronan sucks balls as a villain.

I think RPX is just vibrating seats, haha.

Just got back from seeing this for the second time, and I had just as much fun, if not more, this time around. So many amazing character moments, and the dramatic and comedic moments hit just right. Definitely one of my favorite Marvel films!

Wow, am I the only one who thought this was better than the first? This might be my favourite Marvel flick so far. It had so much charm, had me laughing consistently throughout, and I definitely teared up a bit toward the end haha. Great movie.

Yeah, we had electric leather recliners, and you could feel the bass shake the seats a bit, but the screen was floor to ceiling with a curve to it. Ended up being pretty enjoyable anyway!

Also, if anyone's ever watched Regular Show, "Trash Panda" immediately had me laughing and thinking about the "Trash Boat" episode.

I feel the same way! I honestly can't wait to see it again and it's been a pretty long time since I felt that way after seeing a theater movie. I enjoyed pretty much every part. It was so much fun!!

A lot of us think so too, few pages back.

I think it just shows how good both of the films are, if anything.

I honestly think the Guardians films are more enjoyable than like 90% of the MCU.

Some of it was a little overboard but after the events of the first movie, I understood why they included that thread in the movie. It sets things up for the Infinity War movies, since they are the daughters of Thanos and they'll most definitely team up to try and fight their father.

I hated Nebula until she actually explained why she's so pissed off all the time...basically being tortured by Thanos her whole life....I get it now.

I get why she's pissed off but I wish there was a bit more nuance to her hate

This was fun, but not as cohesive and memorable as the first movie. A lot less jokes landed for me this time around. Also I found the Gamorra/Nebula dynamic boring and the plotline with the golden folks unnecessary. This movie would've benefited from being 20 minutes shorter and a plot thread or two cut altogether.

    Yondu 4+ever tho

  24. Basically sums up my number one, and probably only complaint about any of this movie. A lot of the jokes felt very shoehorned in, especially the ones that followed moments that could have otherwise been just fine left alone as a "serious" moment (Nebula's plot to exact revenge on her father, Quill's eulogy for Yondu... couple of other moments I can't think of off the top of my head). I sort of felt like they relied on Drax too much for comedic relief, but realistically he didn't have much else of a role to play so I get it.

Mantis was awesome and, contrarily to pretty much everything that I just said above, I loved the scene when she put her hand on Drax's shoulder and felt his immense sadness, while he remained appearing very collected.

Also pretty much anything with Rocket was gold haha. His reaction to being called a triangle faced monkey was amazing
