This album still slaps and I highly recommend seeing them if you can. They’re all phenomenal musicians but the way they play off each other is fantastic.
Last time I saw them was on the Shields tour and they blew me away. I'm really hoping they'll tour more next year
This is definitely still top 3 of the year for me. Seeing them for the first time on 28th after being a fan since Yellow House. So excited. Not to mention after the day of the show(Tuesday), I don't have to be at work again until the following Monday. Woooooooo
It was amazing. I can't believe I went so long without seeing them considering they're easily one of my favorite bands. It was a pretty great mix of the last 3 records. Also I took a lil liquid acid and it kicked in like almost EXACTLY during the chorus of "Fine For Now" which is a god tier GB song.. So that's tight, haha. really? i like shields far more than everything else in their discography this album is good but shields is one of my favorite, don't like much before it
The last half of Shields is pretty meh but it's still a 9/10. Yellow House = Veckatimest > Shields > Painted Ruins
I listen to their entire discography (sans "Sorry for the Delay" and "Horn of Plenty") probably once every 2 weeks. They're all really special to me. "Friend" is a better album than many bands could ever hope to put out and it's mostly remixes.
Their guitar work is incredible across the board. I'm definitely not a huge fan of Two Weeks either. It's okay.
i only used that as an example because that song seems like their most popular track off their most acclaimed album
i'm also not a fan of psychedelic music at all so when they go very psych pop that's when they generally lose me
