The Life and Death of Grimes

 

Musically I have been on board through it all, but boy has she been on the strangest trajectory of an artist I've seen in a long time

 

We Appreciate Power is fucking awesome, I'm definitely on board for a full album of shit like that.

 

That's exactly what a musician dating a fucking billionaire would say. Fuck off Grimes.

 

I honestly think I’m going to skip this one

 

It sounds weird but she means well, as in she’s trying to make climate change an actual villain that people can get fired up to fight lol

 

Reading her entire interview, rather than just the pull quote, I understand what she is trying to say. It's quite obvious she knows climate change is real and she wants MORE people to believe in climate change. She says that people aren't giving enough shits because they don't like talking about negative things. All of this is true.

Her solution is to make climate change something "fun" that people want to talk about and fix.

While I don't really think that's the solution, I think it's very obvious that her intentions are to fix climiate change, but her weird Grimes way of doing it is well... weird and Grimesy

 

Whole thing is weird and there’s an even weirder passage about her relationship with Elon in that interview that made me pretty uncomfortable to read.

I’ll definitely listen out of curiosity but not expecting to be as into this as I was Art Angels.

 

the intentions re: climate change are good but the idea is kinda dumb tbh

I respect her for all the work she’s put in to get where she’s at. But she sounds like a shitty person right now. Think this will be a skip.

I think she is not wrong about the EP format being better suited to her. I’ve been 50/50 on most of her stuff
