Honestly I am way under-qualified to be making this thread but with the release of the new Skepta album i thought I would make a thread for this so that people could share more grime music. From Wiki: " Some stuff I like but please share more: CHIP - ONE TAKE (MUSIC VIDEO) Clearly I like Chip a lot and all of his diss tracks (there's a lot) are always vicious.
more: in terms of the second wave, can't really go wrong with stormz, novelist and then some legends like skepta, wiley, jme and kano are still making mad stuff: in terms of instrumentals, wiley's instrumental albums and plasticman/plastician are generally my go to ones
Is this a good place to talk about how much I love that JME album from last year? Because I really love that album.
Can someone explain the background of when a DJ "rewinds" or "reloads"? I know what it is and the purpose of it, but what's the origin?
The new Stormzy track is great. Roll on 24th February for the full album. Easily one of my most anticipated this year.
like stormzy a lot but didn't think he was capable (yet) of the kind of album gsap is, it's really really good. fraser t smith is a king when he's making grime/hip-hop
I'm sure some can point you in the direction of old school albums of Wiley and Dizzee but I'd say start with Skepta's Konnichiwa, JME's Integrity, Chip's Power Up.
classics: dizzee - boy in da corner wiley - treddin on thin ice / avalanche music 1 kano - home sweet home neckle camp - straight necklin ruff sqwad - guns and roses volume 1 / white label classics roll deep - in at the deep end ghetts - ghetto gospel recents excluding the three above: dave - six paths aj tracey - lil tracey kano - made in the manor wiley - godfather / snakes & ladders ice kid - 11 stormzy - gang signs & prayer
