Evening Star/Shatter and Burst is such a good way to kick off the record. The way the tempo picks up right before S&B crashes in. They're two parts of the same song imo.
These dudes are the kings of bridges/outros in the metal scene. This thing rules so far. EDIT: Man Diamond to Diamond, we love a good penultimate song. That chorus hook might be my favorite here.
I remember Inhale Exhale! I saw them at least once. Oddly enough, the end of Backseat reminded me a little bit of Twelve Gauge Valentine!
Someone get at me if they see UK/EU distro for the album, I am not importing this no matter how much I love the record
Burn a Miracle is one of the best songs of the year. I've listened so many times since it dropped and it's still just as good as the first time.
Listened probably five or six times by now. Technicolor blues is the only song that isn’t an absolute slam dunk for me. It’s fine but it also veers just a little too close to generic alt rock for me. Like it reminds me of gunslinger by avenged sevenfold lol. Which is a song I like. Just weird compared to the rest of the album. so many of these songs are instant classics for me tho. shatter and burst is the one now. night in October has some extremely hard hitting lyrics for me. also burn a miracle might still be song of the year
Man Technicolor Blues is one of my favorites. I love when a heavy band like this is able to just absolutely crush a ballad type track. Feels like I could’ve heard it on the radio during the 90s/00s and I love that.
This Bright and Beautiful World-era Greyhaven wouldn't have been able to stick the landing on a song like that, they really cooked with all the different styles and approaches on this record.
wild assessment when all candy is their best song (besides burn a miracle). they can clearly do the alt rock thing I just don’t think this song is outstanding in the way the rest of their music is to me
I personally have eaten so good this year with my personal tastes but this band has a knack for being my AOTY every time they release something lol. feeling the same
It's top tier, I've given up trying to rank shit because this year has been so strong but this is like, knocking on the door of my top 5
this will be the tightest top 10 in years. this, deafheaven, la dispute, and moving mountains all pretty much tied at 1
Greyhaven, Spiritbox, Thornhill, Deftones, vianova, The Callous Daoboys, Dying Wish, Orthodox, Antimere. So many great heavy albums this year
