like Jesus man. they’re playing with song structure in a real interesting way too on these singles. I know, releasing the closer early is certainly A Choice, but it definitely makes me curious as to what the rest of the album has in store if this is the end cap

 

Skipping this one due to it being the closer but the reception in here is promising!

 

Missed this one when it came out bc I’ve been out of town and busy and listening to Deftones on the off chance I get to listen to music but listening now and glad I waited bc I would have been shirking personal responsibilities to sneak away and listen to this song some more

 

Brent’s vocal work on these singles is something else

how do you get albums early

 

This is fucking unbelievable, in a year where heavy music is largely shut out of my AOTY list because of how good 2025 has been this has EARNED its place in style. Absolute crusher of a record.

 

Just filed my review and I think this might truly be one of my favourite records of 2025 out of absolutely fucking nowhere.

 

How would yall say it compares to their previous work? Progression of the sound on Bright and Beautiful and then Stereo Grief? Are they taking any big swings on this, or is anything pretty wildly different for them?

 

I would say big swings, pretty clear to me they used the Stereo Grief EP as a launchpad for this. Lotta stuff here they wouldn't have tried last time. Even as someone relatively new to them, skimmed their back catalogue as additional review prep, they've levelled the fuck up again. The Will Putney Special™️ is the icing on the cake. I know he's been their go-to for a bit but he's got the sauce on this one.

holy fuck "Night In October"

 

my AOTY list keeps growing. What an album. Perfectly balanced Greyhaven

 

This fucks. From The Backseat Of A Moving Car is such a ripper holy shit. I love when they do these hammer on/pull off riffs, reminds me of Inhale Exhale (remember them?) back in the day.

Thank god there are still a few bands doing that riffy, southern-y sound in the current stale metalcore scene.

Should also revisit This Bright And Beautiful World because it left me wanting more compared to Empty Black, prefering last year's EP over the former.

 

Trying to calm myself from Day 1 overhype because I started thinking "fuck this is their best" many times during my listen lol

 

Their guitarist writes such memorable riffs. I need them to drop some playthrough videos
