It does. It is the first time though that I'm questioning what Putney was doing here with production though. the treble feels off, maybe potentially not enough low end? I dunno, listen to this and then the last ETID and I think that one sounds leagues better.
I think Brent has firmly placed himself near the top of my favorite vocalists in the scene. The versatility, range, melodies, switching between clean and harsh... Every song is a clinic. chef's kiss
I think this is one of Putney's better sounding mixes, def sounds clearer to me than the last record (which was still pretty good)
this sounds good but I did notice an abnormally large amount of mid range on one of the songs can’t remember which one
All Candy is an all time song btw I was just listening to that album when I stumbled upon cult America but it’s so funny going back and seeing everyone hate all candy because I think it’s easily the best song on the record lol
It was just a bit jarring at first but man it’s so good in the context of the album and now one of my favorites.
It was more about people being worried that it was indicative of what the rest of the album would sound like. It wasn’t, so I’m totally cool with the song. Definitely catchy.
Nah I saw the posts with my own eyes people straight up called it Nickleback and did not like the song
Also even if the whole album went the direction of All Candy it would have been a great album still lol All Candy is sick
Ok? Two posts = people. There were many more “really underwhelming” posts /shrug just calling it how I see it
I’ve always been a fan of this band but for some reason I never really listen to them all that often. I can’t stop listening to them over the last couple days, I’ve never been this hooked. I’m not huge on Cult America but the other two albums and the EP are insane. It’s like Norma Jean and emery were throw into a blender with a dash of ETID and the chariot mixed in without sounding at all derivative
I feel like you were trying to dunk on the thread for our initial opinions like 3 years ago that most of us went back on. I’m not sure I understand your whole point in that initial post lol.
I just thought it was crazy how initial reactions were so negative when I consider it one of my favorite songs I’ve ever heard. That’s literally all I was saying
Like we know dude can sing and has some impressive chops but his vocal work on that song is transcendent
