There’s points here where I hear more He Is Legend than ETID. I felt like the last album was a little too on the nose with the idol worship, I don’t feel like that at all this time around.
Never listened to this band. Album kicks ass. Def filling the heavy void after I overplayed UO and ETID. Shoutout to the post hardcore thread for the rec
Creeping it's way into my current AOTY. So much chaos and emotion. The moments of reprieve are some of the best moments on the album (All Candy & Ornaments From The Well). The album was well worth the wait.
chorus to A Painful And Necessary Action has been stuck in my head nonstop. I thought this was less hooky than Empty Black but these songs just keep on unrolling and revealing themselves with more listens. Kinda like Empty Black!
I’ve gained a newfound appreciation for Empty Black since this came out, particularly Ten Dogs - Red Heaven. When the guitar solo kicks in after he sings “they call it red heaven” it’s so cool and unexpected.
Empty Black is a gem. I’m still growing on the new album, but something about Empty Black just feels like it’ll be hard to overtake as my favorite
Saw them ln in Chicago and they were fucking awesome. Felt like at least 150 peeps there, many of them going fucking nuts which was awesome considering I saw them at downstairs SubT when Empty Black came out with like 20 people. They've gotten so good, the breakdown in In A Room Where Everything Dies was fucking nasty. Very proud of them
The Quiet Shakes came on my apple music radio and it ripped. Played the full album and instantly loved it. I'll echo that the band gives me ETID and Letlive. vibes, with a bit of Oh, Sleeper screams at times.
I'm listening to this album for the first time right now and holy shit. As a fan of He Is Legend, ETID, Norma Jean, etc. who hasn't gotten excited about anything new in a while, this is really scratching my itch for that mix of heavy, melodic, chaotic, swampy goodness.
If you like this, you'd love the one before it. I like this album a lot but the master holds it back a bit. Empty Black is incredible start to finish though.
I need to come back to this one. Loved Empty Black but didn’t have time to fully appreciate this when it dropped
It seemed like this greyhaven album was more focused than the previous ones but slightly lacked in moments that grab you. I’m thinking the chorus of echo and dust, the entirety of red heaven, but especially the bridge into the guitar solo. What a track.
Echo and Dust, Pt. II still gives me the feels. A hell of a way to close out that album. “You were me in my sudden death. I am you in another life”
wow this is actually really sick. didnt expect to like it based on what ive heard about them previously but this is dope. does remind me a lot of empty black
