Yeah, there was about 10 seconds where I wasn't sure about the vocal production and then I immediately fucking loved it lol
I like this but it feels like the type of thing that will thrive best in a live setting. Really gonna blow some socks off with this one
I like the song. It sounds even better recorded. Not exactly -fresh- since they’ve been playing it live for years. I feel like “Motherfucker” could’ve been a better lead single but what do I know?
Fantastic song, a bit bummed there’s no album announcement. Maybe (hopefully) it’s coming later next year
Seeing Greet Death in KC tonight. I was looking at the setlist from last night and it looks like a they’re playing a ton of new songs.
Let us know how it goes. I'd love to hear general descriptions of the newest songs too if you're up to it/can remember!
I don’t know if I can describe the songs well but here it goes. The new songs seemed varied in sound and structure. There was one that sounded like it could be off of New Hell, one that sounded like it could be off of New Low and then some ones that were a little different that wouldn’t seem to fit on any of their previous releases. One had a very catchy melody. Damn, it’s hard to describe a song, especially after you’ve only heard it once lol
The show fucking rocked as expected. Greet Death is probably my favorite shoegaze-type band doing it right now and they have one of the best live shows of all of the shoegaze bands I’ve seen by far. It’s hard to pinpoint why but somehow their music translates better live than a lot of other shoegaze bands. The vocals, the chords, the builds, and the song structures all come across more clearly. Ivory Daze, who were the first band, rocked too. I’d seen them before and they’ve only leveled up. They kind of sound grunge-y or like 90’s alternative. I’ve never listened to their recorded music but they rock live. I’d also seen Prize Horse before and I don’t think their music translates well to a live setting. I like their recorded music better. It’s almost unintelligible live. It’s hard to tell they’re even playing chords lol. Just noise. I was really surprised at some of the types of people that showed up. There was a group of sorority-looking girls that were constantly screaming and loosing their shit lol. My favorite was a white, soccer mom type lady who looked like she was 45. She was doing these little dainty dances throughout Greet Death’s set. It was precious
I want to believe, but they dropped a single last year and nothing followed it until now. Maybe it’s just another single
Yeah, Im hopeful that the last single was just something to hold us over and this is the full on album cycle now, we shall see!
Album is called "Die In Love" and will be out June 27th. Second single is out on streaming services "County Girl"
