Right? Like I get that the Black Keys went significantly more mainstream since Brothers, but they still have legitimately great albums in their catalog. Not at all comparable acts imo other than both have had songs in commercials.
Gave myself 14 tracks to choose from, so it’s just my 14 favorites from the trilogy and sequenced to my liking. It reminds me of Warning, somewhat.
Oh people are warming up to the trilogy, alright. It was always inevitable. Just like when ya’ll re-evaluate FOAM for the better 8 years from now.
To be fair, I'm not a die-hard Green Day fan or anything. I grew up on Kerplunk and Dookie as a kid, but didn't like much else until Warning (which is criminally underrated imo) and American Idiot. There is some stuff on 21st Century Breakdown that I enjoy too, but for the most part, yeah, I'm a weird Green Day fan. There are a few others on Uno/Dos/Tres that if they came on randomly, I may keep them on (5-10ish total?) but I'm not actively going out of my way to listen to those albums. But Amy is a JAM.
I feel like I'm a weird Green Day fan in that there's stuff I love across every album and era, haha. Dos is the album that sucked the most, IMO, but even that has some songs I adore. And Tre came out so quickly after it that my disappointment over like, "Lady Cobra" didn't fester too much.
I tried many many many times to say "oh how bad can trilogy be" to find myself leaving wirh maybe 3 decent songs. No direction. Not a lot of fun. Not old green day. Not new green day. 100% b sides album.... which is sad cause shenanigans was great! And foam is even worse than trilogy if that's possible.
Nuclear Family Carpe Diem Angel Blue Rusty James Lazy Bones Stray Heart Missing You 8th Avenue Serenade X-Kid Walk Away 99 Revolutions Oh Love That's my trilogy edit. Tight 12 songs.
