My Green Day ranking changes a lot because they're my favourite band but atm it's probably American Idiot Nimrod Dookie 21st Insomniac Kerplunk Warning RevRad Trilogy 1,039 FOAM
The only Green Day albums I listen to are Dookie, International Superhits, and FOAM. That’s all I really need from them.
insomniac 21st century breakdown warning dookie american idiot nimrod kerplunk .... (would like to signify a slight gap between albums above and albums below so no one thinks i hate kerplunk) foam revolution radio trilogy hope no one thinks i am a maniac just gotta speak my truth. also i never listen to 1039 so i thought why even rank it
I honestly don’t get the utter hatred of FOAM by you guys! Haha. I’ve said it before but it’s their best album since American Idiot.
i actually don't hate foam, as the album thread bears out. fun record. it's just... some distance from kerplunk, still
The reaction to FOAM here is pretty hilarious to me. It's definitely not one of their classics, but it's a fun addition to the discography imo.
I really don’t think it’s just the reception it gets here. I’ve genuinely never once heard anyone outside of this forum even talk about the record outside of the odd person saying they didn’t like the singles or commenting on how they didn’t sound like Green Day.
Eh I don't think it's as universally panned as some you seem to think it is. I mean, I think it was underwhelming for the majority of casual fans but the general consensus I've seen is that it's a mixed bag. Not even close to how relentlessly torn apart something like the Trilogy was.
FOAM was a fun record but the lyrics were super weak, which is why it’s low/not in my my rankings. Just a weak entry into their discography, not necessarily an awful record or anything. I still spin it often. Also Revolution Radio isn’t bad at all? Do people here really dislike it that much? Or is it more so just...there...to people?
Rev Rad seems decent but I've never listened to it more than two or three times. Just doesn't do much for me I guess. For me I just can't fathom choosing to listen to anything that isn't American Idiot or earlier. Just pales so much in comparison to me. I don't want to dislike their albums. I'd kill to love a Green Day album again.
Rev Rad is just there to me, I can’t really imagine why I’d listen to that album when I have American Idiot
21CB is too long and had the impossible task of following up American Idiot, but I still love that record so much
21CB is one of those records I always think I like more than I do. I mean like I get a real urge to listen to it, and quickly remember why I don't listen to it. It definitely has a few good songs anyways
I’ve got some vivid memories of listening to International Superhits on my CD player in like 4th grade on my way to hockey.
I absolutely LOVE 21st Century, there's honestly not a song I'd cut besides maybe Know Your Enemy lol. I really love the overblown classic rock sound they go for on that album
I loved 21 Guns when the album first came out and now for whatever reason I skip it every time it comes on. I feel like the song just drags on and on.
this conversation gets resurrected every so often but i really think 21st century breakdown is wonderful from beginning to end, amazing set of melodies
