Yeah, Teenage Teenager is the worst song on the record. That song aside, calling the album a regression doesn't sound right to me though. They're clearly trying new things, whether they pull them off or not.
Teenage Teenager just sounds like a Weezer song lol. I like it despite the lyrics I'd say Sugar Youth deserves another listen from you guys
There are a few parts that remind me of Green Day on FOAM..... -The chorus in Teenage Teenages sounds like something off Warning. - Sonic Youth could fit right on Radio Revolution. - The outro in Stab You In The Heart is cool and reminds of Insomniac and Nimrod. Three things I think album has going for itself... - The production. - The energy. - My wife actually likes the album, but I think that’s because she’s pregnant. ......I’m just trying to be positive about it bc it’s an easy album to poop on.
Oh no, don't you remember the other day when I convinced everyone that it's a good and fun album? Maybe you were playing hooky that day.
I did a Green Day discography run this week. Quick thoughts that stuck out to me on a few albums: - ‘Nimrod’ and ‘Warning‘ are still my favorite Green Day albums. - I fell in love with ‘American Idiot’ all over again. Maybe it’s just the timing of things, but it hit me just right revisiting it after a long time of not giving it a proper listen. ‘Give Me Novacaine’ is an underappreciated song from the album. Also, the guitar tones are masterful on the album. The whole thing has aged very well. -The trilogy is more fun than I give it credit for, but I think thats because quantity wins over quality in this era. I still prefer listening to my ‘Cuatro’ playlist made with 14 of my favorite songs from the three albums, which reminds me a lot of ‘Warning’ when I listen to it. I also love the guitar tones in this era A LOT. There’s something about fat/full tones that still give off clarity in the mix. This band just knows how to do it. It’s gotta be those P90’s BJ and Jason love to use. -21CB grew one me a lot over the years. I appreciate it for what it is and how successful it was and still is. I have to be in the right mood to listen to it though and that’s okay with me. I still enjoy it and can get through the repetition a lot of the songs have throughout the album. -I officially think FOAM isn’t their worst album. That title goes to ‘Dos’. Turns out I dislike way more songs on ‘Dos’ than I do on FOAM.
The video description confirms they are releasing Money Money 2020 II! This is going to be interesting haha.
I love the first album lol, I've always wanted to see them chase that sound more but always assumed if any of the side projects were to get a followup album it would FBHT (which I still desperately want)
