First thing I did was look to see if they were playing a UK tour date, because it feels like they give all the good shit to the UK. U.S. tour please.
Dookie is 38 minutes, Insomiac is 32, Nimrod is 49 - definitely do-able in a one-night set. Or do Dookie/Insomiac and a slew of later hits. If this hits Riot Fest, I will poop.
If this is a tour, it better come to Utah. Or at least to California. Hopefully it doesn't end up being a 3 night long thing that they do in only like 4 cities.
I hope they do a full tour with all 3 albums in a row, followed by a mini encore set with some favs from before and after these albums. Maybe 5-10 songs?
That’s probably too much. If there’s an encore it’s probably just Good Riddance and fun. All three albums is already almost 50 songs
Maybe it’s just a Dookie/Insomniac tour and Billie will just post the tour dates or some shit? Three albums is a lot for anyone especially for these geezers lmao
These three albums would still make for a shorter set than they usually play! Dookie/Insomniac/Nimrod and a greatest hits encore would make the most sense to me.
Like, throw one one song from Kerplunk, American Idiot, Waiting or Minority, a song from Rev Rad, and one from 21CB and I’d be content with that as a short encore.
I don't think Nimrod shares the same kind of excitement to be played in full like Insomniac/Dookie do. Lots of Nimrod can really drag. Its more likely they do Dookie/Insomniac/greatest hits.
Nimrod is honestly my favorite album that they put out in the 90's, seeing the full thing live would be like a religious experience for me
For me it is bottom tier in terms of their discography. Not like...trilogy bad. I just think that it had no business being 18 tracks when a decent amount of it seems like filler. Hell, now I just wanna make a track list. 1. Nice Guys Finish Last 2. Hitchin' a Ride 3. Redundant 4. Scattered 5. Uptight 6. Last Ride In 7. Haushinka 8. Walking Alone 9. King for a Day 10. Good Riddance 11. Prosthetic Head That right there might've been one of my favorite albums from them. The highs on this thing are really high.
Nimrod might be my favorite album ever so the mere thought of taking songs off the tracklist is painful to me
I don’t think Nimrod drags really at all. I’d cut Last Ride In, because I skip it anyway. It’s my second favorite album they’ve put out though.
Nimrod is my number one Green Day album. Also, after many many years I think Insomniac is finally clicking with me.
I’ve always liked a handful of songs from it, but I never thought of it being on dookies level and have always thought it was a step back. I’ve always tried giving it chances, but it never stuck with me until recently. It’s been getting me through my long/hot runs.
Insomniac was my favorite GD album for a long, long time. Nimrod might have surpassed it though. It's the perfect bridge between eras IMO, and foreshadowed what creative path they were beginning to go down.
