Man, that is some good shit. Billie doesn't have to reinvent the wheel to write great hooks. I always enjoy his side projects.

This is fun and I'm very into it. Some low stakes, catchy songs in time for summer.

 

I'm smiling like an idiot while listening to this. I understand the Uno comparisons, but musically I think this is a lot more interesting than almost anything on the trilogy.

 

They played their first show tonight and it's confirmed it's a solo project, 7 inches were being sold at the show and they just said all songs by Billie Joe Armstrong. His backing band was Jeff Matika from Green Day's touring band and two of the dudes from Prima Donna

 

Have to say I prefer these songs to majority (if not all) of Green Day's output post Warning.
