Do you think football fans aren't also Green Day fans....?? Mike and Billie are always at 49er and Raider games themselves.
Seems inevitable BJ will say something political (at the very least do the MAGA agenda lyric change) and idiots will get mad
Despite them being my favourite band I've never done that. Maybe Uno only, others I've probably never listened to in full.
If you can get a decent EP out of one album that's one thing. A decent EP out of three albums that's another thing lol
I like the trilogy more than Revolution Radio and I think Uno is the worst out of the batch There’s my hot/bad? Take of the day
I've cooled on the Trilogy in recent years, I used to really enjoy it. I still like it probably more than a lot of people here but it's definitely not great
I used to have a playlist where I picked the 14 best tracks from the Trilogy, sent it to my friend and they said it made them realize it wasn’t all bad. wish I could find it lol
The trilogy sounds like Billy Joe was hired to write songs for a fake Green Day-like rock band in a movie, and the studio was like, “hey wouldn’t it be cool if we actually had him write a whole album of songs as the Rudabegas and we released the fictional album as a CD you could actually buy?” and then Billy Joe wrote 40 songs and didn’t use any of his best stuff because he was saving it for an actual Green Day record and the studios were like “we love all the songs and we want to release all of them. It could be a triple album.“ And then they did that.
I can't with Dos. Maybe Stray Heart...that's it. I can see why they sandwiched that one between Uno and Tre.
Dos is better when I imagine the really goofy songs as a continuation of Foxboro Hot Tubs (pretty sure makeout party and fuck time were supposed to be)
I don’t mind Uno. It has a handful of fine songs. Dos is awful outside of Stray Heart. Tre has like 2 or 3 songs that are fine but overall the trilogy is a big miss for the band and the start of a 12 year forgettable period from them until they released Saviors.
