Yeah I was there, got a nose-bleed midway through via being kicked from a crowd surfer but stuck it out. Awesome show. BJA was drunk as shit too.
I grew up in Christianity and whenever anyone said they just wanted to talk and weren’t looking to proselytize or convert you to Christianity, it meant they 1000% wanted to talk to you about Jesus and convert you.
I simply would not listen to the same fucking ghoul who signed the bombs dropped on the children of Gaza.
Watching the set right now, they're such clowns. Starting with all 6 minutes of Bohemian Rhapsody over the speakers followed by Blitzkreg Bop in full while a person dressed as a rabbit runs around. Almost 10 minutes of fucking around before the set actually starts
Having a weird realization watching this, which is that 10 years ago AC/DC and Guns n Roses headlined Coachella in 2015/16, which was a pretty equivalent number of years headlining after each bands big break (30-35 years after they were big), which just makes me think that kids 10 years younger than me who are at Coachella watching Green Day are seeing them in the same light that I would think of AC/DC or Guns n Roses... just a weird thing to put together in my head
Yeah, I feel like they've been doing this for 15+ years now. Granted it starts before their scheduled set time, it still drags on and on every time I've seen them live in any setting. Change-over is done, start the set!
An awesome time to grab show beers while everyone else is rushing in thinking they're close to starting.
it’s even worse in a festival setting. Imagine being on your feet 10+ hours at that point of the day and you’re dying for them to start and this shit happens lmao
I was watching Clairo on another stage and her set time went over so I was very glad that Green Day was fucking around the first 10 minutes lol, I showed up right when they started actually playing
Just got tix for Ohana Fest in September. Pretty stoked to see them again. I’ll forever kick myself for missing the Saviors tour, but Ohana is a cool fest and seeing them in a smaller environment can’t be passed up!
As much as I think Green Day is a phenomenal live band and they are my favorite band, they could EASILY play another 10-15 songs every night if Billie scaled back on the “Hey-oooo”’s and just played the songs with an occasional vamp here and there. That’s why I enjoyed the Dookie / American Idiot tour last year. He still did his thing but lessened because of how much they had to play.
