YES! that was the store with the basement that had different rooms for different genres right? Awesome place. Didn’t it move to Magna Plaza? I went there once, but it wasn’t the same.
Yeah exactly, like 5 super nerdy but large genre record stores in one, plus videogames. It was amazing. I did move to Magna Plaza for a while, spread out across several stores. It was relatively similar sstill in terms in inventory but it really wasn’t the same. Actually it “moved” once more to the basement of the Media Markt close to the library, but I went there once and at that point it was mostly just a name they slapped on their own terrible music section. I wish I hadn’t gone. At least at Magna Plaza it was still sort of real.

one of the very first cd's i bought as a kid was nimrod, and i got a hold of it two weeks early thanks to befriending the manager in a 'soundwaves' store in downtown houston.
It's the reverse, isn't it? You're competing for the opportunity to buy, not paying for the opportunity to compete.
Somehow this seems worse? Haha Seems like it’s basically the same idea except you’re paying twice, and the second payment to actually purchase could be…an insane amount they didn’t disclose up front?
Ah. Okay. I didn't intuit that from your post, if anything I thought you just thought it was drawing full stop.
