The elderly. That does include elder emos and elder millennials, of which I am both.

That’s fair. Maybe too broad a generalization, but to yell at someone else for doing it at a show is wild

If I paid for a seat and someone is standing in front of me blocking my view, I'd do nothing because I'm a scared individual who avoids confrontation, but I'd be giving the death stare to the back of their head the entire time.

Well, at least I wasn’t the only one. I grew up standing when the headliner came out, and I’ll always follow that.

Yea, I think standing for the headliner is common. The only times I’ve stayed seated the whole time were when I’ve been front row in a balcony.

I feel like at sporting events and concerts, standing is 100% fair game. Choose to sit if you want but don’t get mad at someone for enjoying themselves.

having said that, if the entire crowd is sitting I’m definitely not going to be the one guy standing, so there is a bit of a “read the room” element.

I'll be fuming. Just livid. Staring right at the back of your skull. You'll be like "why is this guy so mad?"

I asked the security guard at our show if it was okay if I stood up at our seats, and he said “If everybody else is doing it. But feel the music.”

couldn’t care less if no one else is standing up. It’s Green Day, not an Adele concert. I’m there to have fun.

When Billie Joe is actively telling people throughout the show to jump up and down, put their hands in the air, etc., the concept of sitting down is even more ridiculous.

Caving in to peer pressure, the exact opposite of punk. You hate to see it.

    Heh.

Real talk, I do dislike it when I've purchased a seat to something and I'm forced to stand up because I'm one of the rare birds that likes just watching a performance, but I can’t say I don't get it, and yes, I am just being a schmuck right now.

I mean, I do get it. But this ain't the symphony! It's a rock concert! There are types of concerts I'm ok with sitting for, but I'm not sitting down at a Green Day show.

If you want to sit down that badly just buy first row of a section

Go to 2000s indie rock shows. No terrorist plots, nose-bleed stadium seats, or standing. Just pure old person resting and music enjoying.

Incredible fucking show last night in Minneapolis.
37 songs and not a distracting amount of “Hey-o’s”, it was wonderful ❤️❤️❤️

2nd: Jason White who’s toured with them since the Warning era and was actually an official member of the band during the Uno/Dos/Tres era

3rd: Kevin Preston. He’s been touring with them since the Father Of All… era
