don’t think so. He said it happened during American Idiot, watched the clips a few times and never heard anything.
I'm surprised how quickly I've turned on The American Dream. It already feels like a novelty song to me rather than one I want to go back to. I'm sure it will go over well live but it's already aged for me.
It’s ever so slightly faster on that video above and I think it pops better. Same way Minority goes from “yeah that’s just fine” on the record to a tornado when played live.
Minority might be THE quintessential Green Day song. Super catchy and lyrics that really define what the band is about
It's infectious in the best way, has the "immediacy" that first attracted me to Bang Bang. Hope that the rest of the album lives up to this promise. That said, the "paedophiles" line is a clunker.
Disagree. Billie's lyrics have essentially been composed of almost entirely clunkers for a long time (minus certain songs on Rev Rad) and I think they're really back to basics on this track and not in a bad way It might be a harsh and edgy line but it makes sense and it's succinct
To each their own, to me it's like they set out to rival "She tried to pray it away so I fucked her in church" from Edging haha
Have decided this song is fine but it kinda bores me as much as Know Your Enemy did if we're talking first singles
