What is the reference/sample/homage in the second verse? It's driving me insane.

 

I think I like the song? I've been burnt by the past few releases of this band so I'm very much holding judgement. FOAM felt like a complete and utter misstep.

 

This feels like it could be their Edging. An OK enough song that feels like a bit of a retread or self-cover that is either a sign that the whole album will be like that OR it could end up being a safe first single/lower tier track on an actually cool record like Edging ended up being on Blink’s new album.

Hoping for the latter!

Of course! For some reason my brain couldn't make the connection.

 

Ehhh, it's probably the best single they've had in some time but it feels a little like a rehash to me and doesn't quite hit the same caliber of the Dookie -> American Idiot golden years.

 

Out of curiosity i looked at a green day show i was at in 2002 pre American Idiot. To be still playing Knowledge and Shout is wild.

 

Weird to see Good Riddance not be the closer

 

Haven’t been on here since the song came out but I fucking love it! The prechorus and the little string deviation in the second verse are my favorite parts but the whole song is super catchy and the video is cool too

All of my favorite bands are releasing, it’s nuts

 

I'd kill to see Macy's Day Parade as the closer.

 

I was able to grab one of BJA’s guitars during their Reverb sale last week. This one was his backstage warm-up guitar for the Hella Mega Tour. No band has been quite as influential for me than Green Day, so pretty surreal to have even a small part of band history. Great guitar!

Which means 8/7 at Fenway Park. Wild that Fenway will be hosting two of the biggest pop-punk bands ever in a single month's time next year! Haha.

I guess what I meant to ask where are they playing in SoCal, as opposed to if they are playing here

 

The account is greendayinc. If you go to the story they have a post or two that say "Hey (USA/Canada flag emoji) fans, where would you like to see a Green Day stadium show?") and if you DM them basically asking when/where in a region (e.g., "SoCal") they'll probably respond with a few hints.
