"Look Ma No Hands" is waaaay better than "American Dream." They've done "American Dream" a thousand times. "Look Ma" actually feels a little fresh while also still sounding like Green Day.
probably. that makes more sense. i was just going off of that other guy's post, haha. but yeah, i think you're right.
no, but i'm just saying it's not like they're taking a breather while the crowd does "Hey oh" chants for 30 minutes haha. They're still actively playing and moving around. Tre basically never stops drumming the entire show.
It would be one thing if they were playing only like 15 songs a night and doing all that. When they’re playing 25-30 songs and a lot of times bringing in old songs that don’t get played as much, I have a hard time caring about it lol
It doesn't seem like they're actually doing that--they've been playing roughly the same set for 15 years. I think people are saying if they did less of the hey-os, they might actually have time to bring in more old songs that don't get played as much.
They literally just played 5 songs they haven’t played lately this past weekend at their club show lol the hella mega tour was definitely a static set list, but almost every tour before that has had uncommon songs making appearances
Yes. Green day club shows are definitely a treat. If you're ever lucky enough now that's the shit. Look the fact that it's an inside joke between green day fans that, its not just the songs that are similar, its the ANTICS thats the exact same. Why not change it up? Please lol. Like I'll tell you this. Green day headlining s festival does nothing for me going forward because you know what you're going to get
I’d love for a club tour but those are rare one-offs and of course they got uncommon songs for that one. You might be misinformed about how often they do shows like that one…
The last 3 times I’ve seen them have had a good amount of song variety so idk. I’m not misinformed by how often they do club shows, I know it isn’t a ton.
Look Ma No Brains is the ONE. Sounds like Maria to me, which is one of their best deep cuts. Give me an album of THAT.
I don’t think I’ve ever been as consistently excited for new music from a band who has let me down so many times. But they will always be one of the most influential and important bands to me so I’m here for it. Ready for another iconic Green Day album in a year ending in 4!
its impressive how easily they can turn the stadium shtick on and off. the WWWY warmup show had basically no hey-ohs, extended songs, "get your hands up", or anything like that and it was really refreshing. unrelated, but there have been rumors BJ did a lot of vocal strengthening work in the past year. his voice sounded noticeably better at these shows than it has over the last couple years
