This band has such an insanely fucking good catalogue and shows like this where they show the full range are way too rare for them I hope they go back to the days of the 21CBD tour where they would just throw random shit into 2.5 hour sets. Another huge stadium tour doesn't fill me with hope for that though
I don't like the song specifically due to the hook but at the same time it gives me high hopes for the album?
Sorta agree. I find it catchy. It's definitely more of a safe bet/their very specific style post 2004, but it's a style I like.
I dig the song for sure, but cant wait for a high quality studio version. Hopefully this is a good sign that we can forget that FOAM even happened!
Let’s go! I like the new song, pumped to hear the studio version next week. Insane tour. Hope I’ll be able to snag a decent ticket.
So happy to see the variety in the set list! Hope they bring some of these tunes for the tour with SP
New one feels like 21CB so it could go either way. At least it's way better than the first single from that album lol
Legitimately stoked that Green Day might play these at WWWY tomorrow, since they played them lastnight! I didn't think I'd ever get to see them play any of those FOAM songs live after the world shit all over it. I also hope WWWY gets Dookie in full.
Billy Corgan is such a dork I haven’t been able to listen to Smashing Pumpkins in years. Not a big enough draw to make me wanna go to this tour. New song sounds way better recorded imo.
Dookie in full would be huge there, and then greatest hits after that (and then greatest shits: FOAM in full where I can be front row and sing every word proudly, tears on face, melting in a puddle of dirty filth.) Fingers crossed.
Coming from a big Smashing Pumpkins fan, I actually kinda wish there was a different band in their slot for this tour. It seems bizarre to have a heavy alt rock group sandwiched in between a lineup that’s completely punk otherwise. I kinda wish their slot was filled by a more higher-end punk band like The Offspring or Rise Against. That’d fit the vibe way better. I mean in terms of a 90’s lineup, GD/SP makes sense, but maybe have some different openers that reflect both realms? That being said, I’m hyped for this tour and will try to be there for sure
The verses seem like they almost want to be a fun Nimrod melody but they’re (unfortunately for me) interjected with that American Idiot mini-riff. And not a big fan of the chorus. *retreats back into a mild and distant curiosity regarding modern day GD*
