Burnout’s probably the Green Day song I listen to most these days Warning’s amazing, but the excess praise from many lands it in the overrated zone. The emotional urgency has nothing on Dookie or Insomniac, and Nimrod is the more interesting “mature” record. Every song is pretty good or great tho
The vinyl got a new master a few years ago but the boxset version and the reissue I got a few years ago are identical. The CD/digital are not remastered.
Crazy that they left it off Nimrod. I also just learned that ha ha you’re dead was recorded specifically for shenanigans, interesting I thought it was older.
Do we? I feel like the AI and 21CBD b sides are not hard to come by. I honestly don’t know if RevRad, the trilogy, or FOAM have b -sides. Is there enough for an album?
Crazy so the official new Green Day songs we got in between warning and American idiot were this, Maria, pop rocks and coke, and that cover of I fought the law?
Dookie reissue reminding me that J.A.R. is def one of my favorite GD songs. I also didn’t realize that one was recorded during the Dookie sessions. I thought they recorded it specifically for Angus
Also, wow, listening to the Woodstock performance takes me back! I remember my dad was able to get an audio version of it from some website in 2009 and I listened to it religiously. I watched the show on YouTube a bunch too when I was 13. I’m so happy there’s an actual release of it now, and in much better quality than what I was listening to back then, haha
I want to say I saw Green Day’s Woodstock performance on MTV at my friend’s house as we were both big Green Day fans at the time with Dookie being the 1st cassette I ever bought. I definitely remember seeing the mud fight. Then again it was in 1994 and I was 11 so I could be wrong.
The Maria that’s on International Superhits is a re-recording. The original version was on the Waiting 7”. I’d love to delve into the Green Day vault. If only for the Warning version of Letterbomb.
Maybe we get a promo image of the three of them waking from their month long slumber and a countdown?
Then known as Clusterbomb. Pretty sure it's on a list of songs from the Warning studio sessions as well as AI sessions?
Actually I hope we get a promo picture of the three of them cozied up in bed in sleeping caps with mugs of coffee and its just a promo for Oakland coffee
