2023 Green Day should try another Warning style album

 

I was telling my buddy that just the other day that I hope they shoot for another Warning type album.

 

I wish I felt 2023 Billie was capable of writing that

 

Based on FOAM I’m not sure he’s capable of writing a punk rock album

 

Honestly an album of Pollyanna-quality songs is about all I feel comfortable hoping for

 

With the pass of time Warning has become my favorite GD album. I wish they went for that sound too.

 

Metro was probably the best show I’ve been to

 

Warning is my fave but trying to recapture that would be a disaster I'm positive. Isn't Green Day not even crazy about how that album sounds? Or am I making that up

 

I'd honestly be perfectly fine if they cranked out RevRad quality material forever.

Well the fact that they clearly weren't trying to write a punk rock album with FOAM, that isn't really a fair statement to make haha.

 

True, they were trying to write a NO SWEDISH SONGWRITERS NO TRAP BEATS UNCUT ROCK AND ROLL album.

 

And they NAILED it. There wasn't a single trap beat on the entire thing.

 

Maybe they meant it with commas.

Yup, record is very good. Lots of good to great songs.

I'm halfway through Revolution Radio (first time listening to it, I think) and so far I'd still take "Sugar Youth" over every song. And I won't apologize for it.

 

How are you listening to that album for the first time but have presumably listened to FOAM dozens of times? Brad I need to know how your brain works

 

Also…

every song on RevRadio > sugar youth > the sound of a literal wet fart > the rest of FOAM
