Well damn...and I was perfectly content skipping this since I saw Green Day at WWWY23. This sounds like a lot of fun.

This def changes my thoughts about attending this tour. I was moderately hopeful for the new record because the first couple of singles sounded much better than their last few records...but then the most recent single dropped and it sounds like Pink and turned me off. Still holding out hope that Saviors is more good than bad!

As much as this makes me happy, that's just too long of a set for me. Even with Foo Fighters, I can only hang for like the first 60-90 minutes and then after I'm like ok I gotta go to bed.

    Aaaachem!

I hope they still find time for a ten minute version of “shout”

I wonder if they announced this because the tour looks like it’s selling terribly. Here in Portland there are a ton of tickets left and looks like it’s the case for other cities.

feels like what blink did with the Enema tour.

Yes. They said they expect to play close to an hour worth of other material.

That's interesting. Also weird to think of a time when blink had issues selling out shows.
So they're going to play for 2-2.5 hours? Damn, that's gonna be crazy.

I saw Green Day in 2012 and 2022 and both times they played for about 2.5-3 hours. Loved every minute!

Well, It was an enema of the state tour without Tom and they had Lil Wayne with them. I definitely wasn’t gonna go to that..

I remember Lil Wayne wanted to leave that tour, because the attendance wasn’t that great or something

I thought the same thing. They've done so much Dookie and (to a lesser extent) American Idiot anniversary press already, it seemed odd to wait so long to announce this and change all the poster art and everything. It's also called the Saviors tour. It's awesome, but it feels reactionary.

Oh yea, the Lil Wayne tour. I remember that disaster. Also remember him wanting to drop off.

I really don’t think the Smashing Pumpkins are the draw they think they are.

Wonder how differently the tour would sell with another scene band like JEW in the Pumpkins spot, or even a band like White Reaper with Rancid. You get classic punk, rock and roll and whatever Green Day is now.

I agree with this. I actively don't to sit through an hourlong Pumpkins set, which is the only option if you also want to see Rancid earlier in the night. Coupled with the ticket prices, that makes this tour an easy skip for me.

The pivot from Saviors to Dookie/AI feels desperate. Also they need to lower ticket prices.

I love The Smashing Pumpkins more than Green Day, but I don’t think they have the same selling power as FOB or Weezer to fill stadiums.

I saw Smashing Pumpkins last year and they are fine. Nothing amazing, I wish this tour had another band with them.

i said this before about the blink/turnstile stadium tour, blink is my favorite band but i wasn't gonna shell out hundreds of dollars for a decent seat. if it had been blink with nfg, yellowcard, tbs, any of those or all together i would of definitely ponied up the dough because in my late 30s i want the most bang for my buck!
