How are they still playing Know Your Fucking Enemy This was a festival though, technically not the "first" date of the tour. Can't see the setlist changing much for their own shows but I hope they replace some of the non-album crowd pleasers with Saviors songs
2nd festival show was the same with the addition of Look Ma, No Brains. So I guess the rest of tour willbe similar
I don't really expect the set list or set length to vary greatly. At O Son Do Camino they got a set length of 2-hours and 20 minutes. I'd imagine that'll be about what they have for the regular shows. Potentially even a little shorter than that. I'm just fully perplexed as to how they're going to make this work for all of the US Shows given the time some of these shows are starting and the curfews in the ball parks. Boston's got a 5pm start date listed with a 10:30pm curfew. Without 15 minute set changes for the first three artists I'm just not sure how it'll work...
I was assuming the Linda Lindas and Rancid would both be doing 30 minutes. But in my (admittedly limited) experience arena/stadium shows tend to have 30 minute set changes for every artist. But if it's just 15 between each up until Green Day that would make a lot more sense... 5:00-5:25 Linda Lindas 5:40-6:15 Rancid 6:45-7:45 Smashing Pumpkins 8:15 - 10:30 Green Day That actually feels about right.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Pumpkins only get 50 minutes. My guess: 5:00-5:25 Linda Lindas 5:40-6:20 Rancid 6:40-7:30 Pumpkins 8:00-10:30 GD
I think you all are overestimating how much time Rancid needs. I won't argue against a 40-minute set but... 30 minutes is enough for 4-5 AOTCW tracks, "Fall Back down," "Radio," some bullshit 90 second song from a newer album, and "Salvation." I'm just weighing egos on who gets the extra 10 minutes... And the Pumpkins win that battle. Regardless, it's gonna be a super fun night. And a helluva way for me and my partner to celebrate our 6 year anniversary!
A 60min Pumpkins set could be really tight, especially with Billy not scared to play the hits anymore. Cherub Rock Beguiled The Everlasting Gaze Ava Adore Tonight Tonight Disarm Zero 1979 Bullet With Butterfly’s Wings Today this would be a perfect set for the casual fan considering this will be more of a GD/Rancid crowd.
I could see this but swapping the Tonight and Disarm with heavier deep cuts like Jellybelly or Bodies
those would both be great, zero percent chance they’d do it but I always loved Heavy Metal Machine, it just sounded so sludgy yet had the soaring chorus.
My show says it's starting at 6:30 so I feel like it has to be something liike 6:30-6:55 - Linda Lindas 7:10-7:40 - Rancid 8-8:45 - SP 9-11 - Green Day I literally don't know how else this could work with a 6:30 start time
They could always bump the start time up, no? I've seen that happen for some shows over the years. Not arenas or whatever but certainly in bigger clubs with tight curfews and larger-sized bills. No idea if that's a "thing" they might do for a bigger show like this... But sometimes the site just posts whatever and as the date grows closer and they start sorting out logistics they realize it's not going to work so they have to pivot.
I was checking how was the schedule for the Hella Mega Tour and it seems it startd The Interrupters at 5:30, Weezer at 6:30, Fall Out Boy at 8:00 and Green Day at 9:30 and they had 30 minutes set changes between them. Probably this time around the opening bands wont have a big stage production like Weezer and FOB did, so doing shorter set changes is doable. But also, on the Hella Mega tour both Weezer and FOB had 1 hour sets, so I want to think they will give a similar set length to the Pumpkins and maybe 45 to Rancid? Unfortunately, none of the European dates have more than 2 opening bands, so we will have to wait until the US tour to know for certain
Green Day Setlist at LDLC Arena, Décines-Charpieu First show of the Europe tour that was a headliner instead of a festival appearance. I'd definitely be happy with this, hopefully they can squeeze this entire set into the American leg
Just came her to post this! 37 songs sounds like such a fun time! Cant wait for this, although my date is the last show of the tour
Mine is the first which I'm happy about lol, means I might get a longer show if they find they have to cut stuff
If they need to cut anything I hope they have the good sense to make it "Know Your Enemy" and "One Eyed Bastard." Haha. Would trade either of those for "Strange Days Are Here To Stay" in a heartbeat. But other than that... I'm all in! "Brain Stew" into "American Idiot" is going to get me hyped.
