There might be one song missing, I can’t remember exactly, but no more than that. But yeah they only got 25 minutes last night
I'm so bummed the storm fucked up the DC date, they cut Rancid after one song (which was happening as I walked in) and the Pumpkins set got cut shorter too. Super grateful we still got the full GD set though I was so excited to finally see Rancid
I’m starting to think I’d prefer Green Day just do a normal set versus the two album plays. Maybe give the openers a bit more time each. Going to Hershey and I hear it’s awful getting in and out of there. We are probably bouncing after Wake Me Up When September Ends or a bit before that even. Pumpkins setlist is great. Wish they’d drop the U2 cover.
The Hersheypark Stadium parking situation might be the worst of any venue I've experienced. My advice is to park in the free Chocolate Ave garage and then walk to and from. It's about a 1.5 mile walk, but it'll save at least an hour at the exit. I did that for a show in June, and it was so much better than ones I'd attended in the past.
1.5 miles! I just hit 40. Any chance they have like a Fastpass/Genie+ option? Is the path clearly marked or anything to get to the stadium?
Haha, I'm 41 and did it with no problem on a really hot day -- the route is extremely flat. And yeah, it's very clear where to go, and the park itself will be on your right the whole time. Google Maps has the route, too (garage's address is 103 West Chocolate Ave). Even though, it says it's 36 minutes, I definitely did it in under 25. It's definitely not for everyone, but I hate sitting in traffic.
Hershey Park stadium sucks all around. Way too many people crammed into a shitty layout of a venue. Not enough concessions or merch stands and there are insane lines for everything. Took me over an hour to get in and then an extra 30 minutes to get to the floor because it’s so crowded. Went to two shows there last summer and the shows were great but every other aspect about it was miserable. That said, see you at Green Day next weekend lol
The Q101 announcement is that they are playing the Q101 Lounge. That will be super cool for the lucky people that are able to win tickets.
The lounge only holds like 50 or so people. the people who win tixs to the lounge show also get tickets to the wrigley show
If you're going to Citi Field tonight, stay hydrated. Imagine there will be a ton of idiots trying to pound 4 tall boys in 90 degree heat and then passing out.
Great show. Up front the sound was really rough though, really could only hear bass and drums. All bands were great. I’d say Rancid got a slightly better reaction than SP, at least in the pit. Crowd energy also definitely was waning towards the end of AI, probably due to it being such a humid night. Also cool that Tim from Rancid dedicated a song to Jesse Malin.
Have you tried loops ear plugs? It’s supposed to drown out background noise while still letting you hear the good parts. People are talking about them from Taylor’s tour
I have the custom ones that are molded for your ears (though I did forget to bring em last night however, thankfully, it wasn't as loud). I'll try those next time. What's odd is that I was at the same baseball stadium for Foo Fighters and Blink 182 last month and the sound seemed a lot better.
Really, really stoked for Boston tonight! A little anxious about getting there in time but... Gonna be keeping a close eye on traffic throughout the day to be sure I can time my arrival for Rancid. I truly can't believe I get to see two of my all-time favorite bands and two of my all-time favorite albums together in the same evening. Plus the Pumpkins.
