RevRad is easily better than 21CB and I only love the first three songs on it lol 21CB has always been a slog to get through
maybe it's more down to personal taste, for instance i prefer an insane overdriven ambitious operatic rock record with nonstop incredible melodies to *sleepily shifts gear into "somewhat normal green day album"* 9 times out of 10. (i also like a lot of long albums and don't really experience the "drag" in 21cb.) "still breathing" is a very good song tho
I want a normal Green Day album when they do it well, because they're Green Day. It's why I'm cautiously optimistic about this one, they got that un cut rock out of their system.
i'm also cautiously optimistic about this one because at this point a reset would do them good. i guess it was the right move after the trilogy too, but i still feel very tired when i listen to revrad
21 guns blows though. I honestly just like the opening song and Horseshoes and Handgrenades. I could drop all the rest.
I'm in the minority but I love 21CB. Love how they went bigger and broader. Also the two B-sides (Lights Out, Hearts Collide) are bangers.
I don't think there's a downright BAD song persay (then again I'm a GD fanboy in the way many of this site are Blink 182 obsessives so take what I have to say knowing that). The lesser songs to me are Christian's Inferno, Last Night On Earth, Restless Heart Syndrome but they add to the album's overall narrative well in addition to changing the tempo a bit so I'd still keep 'em.
21CBD at least had memorable songs. Revolution Radio was seriously bland to me. I think they tried to play it safe after the trilogy and were scared to take risks.
