    Things have changed.

Really liked the album, the bonus tracks aren't doing much for me. That's fine!

I think all of these are pretty fun in their own way. Always happy to have more Green Day

You weren’t kidding. It’s like a really long blink-182 joke song that isn’t funny and should have ended at the 30 second mark.

  4. Very much b-sides here.

Yeah the two songs they released leading up to this are very much the strongest of the batch.

At the risk of being over-simplistic and maybe oddly-timed since I do think Saviors is probably their best and most creative album in forever, it feels like they’re comfortably out of their “something to prove” days and there’s not really any burning artistic vision that’s still kicking around. So we are getting proficiently made little experiments in genre or curious attempts at nailing a particular sound with varying results.

Occasionally, the songs are fun and good with sequences where they tap into the creative place they used to access and live in for full albums in the past. But it really is a 30+ year old band kinda having fun with a degree of investment that is probably very healthy for their personal lives. A lot of people probably internalize this instantly without having to type it out loud and they’ve been able to enjoy the music for what it is but as someone who enjoys thinking about stuff I think that’s how I sort of view the Saviors and expanded version. I wish it was more inspired but I give it credit for being fun and probably the most appropriate and best way for Green Day to exist at this point.

The new songs are mostly good. Fuck Off isn’t… really good but I like the others. Just happy for more GD

Without Fuck Off, I would have taken any of these tracks on the record and not batted an eye. The two pre-released are the best but I dig the bridge of Stay Young and I like Underdog for the pep.

ran through the main album again and ill still die on the hill that its their best album since warning. the whole run from dilemma through chapstick is absolutely top notch

Yeah this album is still in rotation for me, even though the highs aren’t that high. It’s hard to ask for more from band with as large as a catalog as they have at this point.

think Ballyhoo is awesome, fuck off is pretty bad. The other ones are okay

Plus, why would I listen to fuck off when we have FOD?

With different lyrics and vocal delivery and with a little louder/sloppier sound, Fuck Off *could* have been cool. I don’t hate some of the music hidden behind the really unfortunate choices. Honestly, I just wish they’d release one more snotty album with the faux-angry/faux-raw sound of Insomniac. Loud bass, pls.
