Yeah Brandon Flowers was absolutely doing a British affect on most of Hot Fuss lol, which he obviously abandoned on Sam's Town and largely has not returned to since. He sings so much differently now and really leans into his natural accent at times
In fact I thought GD were Irish, the folky vibes and colors used in Warning had me confused for a while lol. (I barely understood english by the time, let alone identify different accents).
As a South Australian with an accent that some northern/eastern Australians think is British, I think Billie sounds very American lol
I somehow never knew I shared a birthday with him. My childhood self would have been so excited, haha.
Finally got to listen to this - really dug it - only 2 songs that I didn't really like are Coma City and sort of, Suzie Chapstick Rest was pretty great!!
I know this thread doesn’t feel the same, but Suzie Chapstick is C+ to me. Slightly more than average.
I've only listened to the album once thru and I still randomly break out into "do you wanna be my boyfriend?!" So catchy
I was a fun ride because of the playlist, but Bradley is such a C tier instructor. At least his pop punk playlists are better than Kendall’s. also, just started this album this weekend. What a blast. Was weary since the last string of albums were mostly forgettable. This is just plain out fun.
I really do love this more and more on every listen, even Corvette Summer has grown on me after I accepted how cheesy it is
OK, now that I'm into this album, what was the song everyone was saying sounds like Weezer? I didn't notice any
Between bringing up Covid and FOAM in the same sentence, Plex is not trying to sell anyone on this album.
I wouldn't expect anyone else to get this reference, or even agree with me, but for the longest time it was bothering me that Fancy Sauce reminded me of another song and it's Got to Move by CAKE.
Really vibing with the title track right now. Something about Billy Joe singing into that AI-era vocal modulation effect with super emphasized/deliberate pronunciation just gets me.
