  1. One More Time:
    "The record debuts with a total of 125,000 equivalent album units in its first week, including 101,000 in album sales to become the top-selling album of the week, 23,000 streaming equivalent album units (30.19 million on-demand official streams of the songs) and 1,000 in track equivalent album units."

    "Its 11 vinyl variants helped mark the largest sales week for a rock album on vinyl that year, with 49,000 units."

  2. Green Day did about 9k SEA. 250 TEA.

    It wasn't close. Them getting outsold, by a lot here, is just a fact.

    And pre-orders go in spikes, first week, during single releases, release date. The length of something being up is pretty negligible. A year long pre-order because they released the first single before the album was even done is not the norm, but not gonna change the numbers much. The last three Blink albums all just sold better than GD did.

    Regular

    Blink also did the 'added two songs to the digital release you have to buy in full to listen to' which probably helped a bit with their first-week totals too.

  4. Definitely that and the signing was a specific move to try and get #1.

    And Green Day’s “listening party” was a good move for them. Their indie store numbers are good.

    I know that looks low, but I feel like this is still a big win if they are serious about working back to being a bigger band. Obviously they will never be AI-big again, but that would be ridiculous to expect. They have a release that is getting widespread acclaim, and did a bit better on the numbers than their last album. They don't feel like the old-cringe band this cycle. That alone is still a win, no matter what Blink did.

    Demand for new Blink was obviously higher than demand for new Green Day. I think they maximised their potential with the promotion and single choices.

  10. Are all the vinyl variants embossed covers?

    I would like to see world wide numbers, I’d be surprised if Blink outsold Green Day in Europe, but then again who knows. The venue Green Day plays here next summer is huge though.

    I took a break from listening to this to check out the new Alk3 record and revisit the new Blink, and after a healthy amount of time with both I can safely say that I am immensely satisfied with the quality from all three

    Green Day is my favorite band so Saviors feels particularly sweet but god damn, what a time to be a fan of these bands

    Okay I'm finally ready to talk about this album. I wanted to give it a few listens over the course of a few weeks to see what I thought (unless the album is a goat album or total trash i think its impossible the review an album on just one listen).

    Oddly, I'm still not sure what I think lol

    Like it's good but I can't determine if I think it's great. A lot of songs that I think are solid B+-A- tracks.

    Stand out favorites;
    - One eyed bastard
    - 1981

    Top tier tracks, B+/A- tier;
    - Bobby sax
    - corvette summer
    - look ma no brains
    - coma city
    - goodnight Adelaide

    Mid life:
    - Dilemma
    - Susie chapstick
    - strange days
    - fancy sauce
    - American dream

    Nah;
    - father son (too boring, on the nose)
    - saviors

    Wtf kinda bad;
    - living in the 20s. Hate this lol

    To me this album is just such a relief. I was beginning to write green day off. Uno does tres, foam were bad. American dream is killing me and the singles were fine but they sounded either too much of the same, and not getting me excited. This album they tried a bunch of new things and a lot of songs that aren't typical green day. Good stuff

    I held off on posting about this album because I had a pulled ligament in my hand and couldn't type a long drawn out post.

    Now though I feel like I can't say more than what's already been said. I like the album. Bobby Sax is a solid Weezer song. Dilemma and Goodnight Adeline are great.

    The album overall sounds like their newer stuff but feels like their older stuff, if that makes any sense. And I feel a heavy 80s vibe throughout the album, which I dig.

    I do feel like Billie is employing some more aggressive vocals on this one, which is interesting. Like the chorus of Dilemma, Bobby Sax, Goodnight Adeline.

    I just don't remember him singing in that register, tone, manner, whatever before. It's neat and I think that's why those songs are gelling with me so much. I don't know if I'm explaining myself very well.
