Really can't get enough of this album. Even with relatively high expectations after the first couple singles, I didn't expect that.
liked four or five tracks here and dilemma is really great but overall this was a pretty tedious listen
GREEN DUDES SUPERSIZED SAVIORS SPECIAL! For those who want to hear me talk about the album for 4.5 hours SAVIORS RELEASE SPECIAL!
Smashing pumpkins are an incredible live act.....though this pairing would make more sense if it was an anniversary of Mellon Collie or Siamese Dream
Cannot stop coming back to this. I honestly didn't think they had another album like this in them. Happy I was wrong.
I've listened probably a good 12-15 times from front to back and here's where I'm at: Really great songs: Dilemma Suzie Chapstick Bobby Sox One Eyed Bastard Good songs: Goodnight Adeline Fancy Sauce American Dream Look Ma 1981 'They're fine' songs: Corvette Summer Strange Days Living in the 20s 'Not sticking at all' songs: Coma Father Saviors Overall, I think there could have been a really, really good 10 song album here, but there's definitely filler as is, in my opinion.
Really great songs: Dilemma Bobby Sox Look Ma Strange Days Good songs: Goodnight Adeline Fancy Sauce Suzie Chapstick 1981 Coma Living in the 20s 'They're fine' songs: Corvette Summer American Dream One Eyed Bastard 'Not sticking at all' songs: Father Saviors
That was actually a typo. Bazoinga goes into the it’s fine category, as, despite all its faults, it’s still the great grandchild of Hitching a Ride.
Maybe. (I've heard the opposite) But, I'd have to like the band to want to see them, and I don't really, and I'd want to support their lead singer even a little bit to want to give them my money, which I also don't.
Really great songs: bastard coma corvette chapstick 20's Good songs: brains sox adeline father sauce 'They're fine' songs: dream strange saviors 'Not sticking at all' songs: dilemma 1981
when sp brought jimmy and james back in they became good live again. no disagreements about not wanting to support billy corgi
Really great songs: Dilemma - A new GD classic that I hope they play forever Coma City Look Ma, No Brains Living in the 20s Good songs: Bobby Sox The American Dream Is Killing Me One Eyed Bastard 1981 'They're fine' songs: Strange Days Goodnight Adeline Suzie Chapstick Fancy Sauce Father to a Son Saviors 'Not sticking at all' songs: Corvette Summer - this is too cheesy/FOAM/The Darkness for my taste
A few listens down now. The sequencing for much of this is really weird, feel like it doesn’t hit its stride and start flowing well until Suzie Chapstick. It’s basically just alternating faster songs with mid tempo songs and it’s clunky imo. it doesn’t help that I’m not digging most of those mid tempo songs very much. That said, the last six songs of this are really good, and overall they sound the most energized they’ve been since 21CB
i also do not love the sequence of this record, but i'd struggle to sequence it better bc i think it's down to there being 2-3 types of song total still... playing it on the daily
