I know it’s kind of weird, but with No Doubt getting back together, that would’ve been a cool co-headliner that would’ve sold no prob. There are some dates that are selling really well, but the Hershey date is struggling. Kind of a weird stop given that they’re doing Philly.

I think they solved it, Laura opened for Matt some years later.

Definitely a weird choice. Thank god they play with The Hives, The Interrupters and Lagwagon in my date in Madrid!

I only really got into the Hives quite recently and their newest album is so fucking sick, should try to break up my obsessive listening of this with that soon lol

I actually really like Smashing Pumpkins and I'm glad I'll get the opportunity to see them since I would probably never go to their own show but it's definitely an odd choice, especially since this is definitely being billed as the Pumpkins opening and not co-headlining

I would argue they could have just gone with Rancid and the Linda Lindas and left that spot blank if they were gonna take the Pumpkins off... I'm personally happy they're there though

Biggest surprise from my full discography run:

I like 1039 better than Kerplunk.

If I was doing a top 100 Green Day songs I would make room for the opening trio, Going To Pasalacqua and possibly Paper Lanterns and 409.

For Kerplunk I'd only include 2000 Lightyears, Christie Road and One Of My Lies. (And Welcome To Paradise albeit Dookie version.)

    Am I wrong??

I certainly don't agree lol but I personally fucking love Kerplunk, I even have it above Dookie. Who Wrote Holden Caulfield and One for the Razorbacks are two of my favorites along with the ones you lisited

I didn’t know people ranked Kerplunk vastly above 1039 until semi-recently. I always enjoyed both equally.

I think it sounds fine. Could easily be interchanged with a couple of songs on the record.

Haven't trekked through most of the comments/reviews here but I'm just going to place a possible hot take/opinion and say that this is their best release American Idiot.

This album is an immediate masterpiece simply for the fact Billie has lyrics about fucking a robot senseless

I’m saying your take is very cold. The majority of people here would agree with you.

Wow awesome I'm kinda shocked tbh thought most people loved 21st and RevRad. I like a handful of songs on each but they're just not albums I consistently revisit as the years go by. This one I can see myself going back to a lot but I time will tell.

lotta folks like 21CB a lott more than i do, i was also never big on RevRad. This is, very easily for me, their best since Idiot. like not even in the same ballpark.

The trilogy release was just too much at the time, I know that there's a great 12-song album in there somewhere out of all three discs that would be able to compete with the other albums but I'd be too lazy to compile that.
