Still going with the album. About halfway through "Living in the 20's." But maaan has this exceeded my expectations thus far! It's well-paced and the songs are enormously catchy, the urgency's back and all that. And I finally figured out the band that "Bobby Sox" reminded me of: Prince Daddy & The Hyena.
First listen down and lemme just say this record is FUN. That’s all I’ve ever really wanted out of this band, and they delivered. Feels great to be excited about a new Green Day record
Wow. After one listen, I can say I enjoy this album. I thought this band was dead in the water after that last one.
Strange Days is hitting hard. We got strong Nimrod vibes along with Billy Joe swallowing his own tail by sounding like Chris Envy from Showoff during the last vocal flourish on the chorus (“staayuuuh”). Might be my #1 at this moment in time.
Looking at that setlist makes me wish the band were more adventurous on big tours (non-anniversary ones at least). American Idiot and Dookie combined is 27 songs so not much room for encores on this tour.
A lot to like on here, I dig it. FOAM sounded like a midlife crisis and this album feels like rocking a salt/pepper beard
That’s excellent. I shouldn’t yuck someone’s yum. That’s what Weezer evangelists do. Enjoy the show - and bring good earplugs! We have used these for years. 3M Kids Hearing Protection Plus, Hearing Protection for Children with Adjustable Headband, 22dB Noise Reduction Rating, Blue https://a.co/d/5tf5Vfy This is my daughter’s third time seeing Green Day and she wears them the whole show without complaint - but I do give her one song during the regular set and one during the encore where she gets to take them off to hear the music blast. It’s still a hell of a lot more protection than I had when I was a kid, and the look on her face when a song is bouncing off the crowd and everyone is screaming, like Basket Case or “If You’re Too Shy” by the 1975 (her fav) makes it all worth it.
