Lumping the trilogy together as one in your rankings is a cop out and you all know it! American Idiot Dookie Warning Nimrod 21st Century Breakdown Insomniac Revolution Radio Tre Kerplunk Uno 39/Smooth FOAM Dos Too soon to add Saviors, but it's definitely slotting into that upper half.
Holding off on listening until midnight tonight. The lead-up to this album has felt like a special event thus far and I kinda want it to feel that way. My expectations are probably way too high but I refuse to let go of the excitement for now! EDIT: And the conversation in this thread is doing nothing to lower them. Haha.
Haven’t listened to the album yet but I’m excited and happy to have a new Green Day album that it seems like everyone really likes. It’s been far too long.
I can't get over how "Lookout! Records roster circa 1994" some of the song titles for this record are. "Suzie Chapstick" and "Bobby Sox" read like they should be on the back of a Screeching Weasel, Squirtgun, or Mr. T Experience CD. Hah.
Those notes at the beginning of Fancy Sauce remind me so much of the Kakariko Village theme from Ocarina of Time
Those two are pretty close for me. Warning gets the edge for me for being a cool departure/expansion of their sound, but I wouldn't be mad if they were flipped.
There are dozens of us midnight holdout listeners! DOZENS. And yet, I am reading every post on this thread and getting more giddy by the second. Last release that had this buzz where I held out was One More Time, and that was well worth the wait.
Going to try to hold out until my flight Sunday morning but we will see if I make it that far. Will be my first chance for an uninterrupted listen. Stoked to see the hype in here.

A lot of "pretty good, something holding it back from being great" songs on here and it STILL manages to be their most consistent, and possibly best, since AI. That's quite a feat.
Very excited to listen tomorrow. I love all 4 songs so far and the roll out has been great. I had actually given up on the concept of being excited for Green Day again over the past decade which was soul crushing. Very happy with this turn around!
Two listens in, I think I would cut "1981," "Father to a Son," and the title track. The rest is pretty fun!
