As a curious person, I’ve always wanted to know what a non-rar file download of the new Green Day record that could be downloaded and played on an iPhone looked like.
In theory, someone could have gone to the aforementioned site and downloaded a RAR file from said site which maybe was not the same listing/page that has this zip. Interesting information to discuss with friends online.
Rar files need an unzip program to access files on iPhones. But anyone who’s tech savvy could just download it on a computer unzip it then re zip it as a zip file and uploaded it anywhere to share.
I promise if you were that curious you would be able to figure out how to extract a RAR and listen to it on your iPhone. Listening will be a clunky and frustrating process, though. Using my Plex server for music has been an absolute game changer when it comes to listening to new albums from my phone when I don’t have easy access to a computer.
Unrelated to Green Day, but I really ought to try out PlexAmp someday. I've used Plex for a decade but never made the music leap.
I started using it for music only very recently because of the convenience of torrenting from my phone and then immediately being able to listen via PlexAmp. It's a good app.
Holy fucking shit, I’ve been literally dreaming for over a decade that they would make the announcement that they just made today, I can’t believe it’s actually happening They play over half of both of those albums live anyway so it won’t even be that huge of a time difference in their shows, but getting to hear Homecoming and Whatsername is going to be incredible
